Transition Readiness Program

An enhanced 8-to-12-week program built on the DoD Transition Assistance Program (TAP), with added focus on mental health, resilience, life-skill development, and mentorship.

About the DoD TAP

The Department of Defense Transition Assistance Program is a mandatory, outcome-based program for all separating service members. It brings together DoD, VA, DOL, SBA, and other agencies to provide counseling, training, and a verification capstone that confirms readiness for civilian life.

Start Early

Begin up to 24 months before retirement or 12 months before separation. Mandatory no later than 365 days out.

Modular Courses

Core curriculum plus optional two-day tracks in education, employment, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.

Capstone Review

Commander-verified readiness check no later than 90 days before separation, with warm handover if standards are not met.
